  1. Rocky Raccon--60% for me--Better for everyone else :-)

Mile to Go Before I Sleep &bull Feb 7, 2012

Getting to Rocky Raccoon this year was a lot easier than last year. We didn't have to fight drifting snow, and then ice for 11 hours like we did last year. But watching the weather forecast for the race was just as frightening. The chance of rain danced between 80% to 95%, and faded to 30% for later on in the race. Come race day morning, they were calling for flash flood warnings. But more on that later. We made it to Huntsville in great time. This was possibly the earliest I have ever been to packet pickup in an event.… Full Story »

I have a home and garden show this weekend, but still managed to get a short run with RunnersWorld Saturday morning. I am a better representative for my company after a good run--even if it's just five miles. My running… Full Story »

  5. Osage Hills State Park with the TOTs. Trail running, eating, and geocaching.

Mile to Go Before I Sleep &bull Jan 24, 2012

I counted 19 of us. There was the person behind the camera, and her husband, who didn't feel like they were a part of the group (pish posh!) and volunteered to take the picture. We had not made it a half mile before there was a scenic stop--the observation tower which is really a concrete platform with a rock wall around it atop the highest point in the… Full Story »

  6. Trailz, geocaches, bridges, trains, and ticks

Mile to Go Before I Sleep &bull Jan 19, 2012

After a Sapulpa appointment was short and done, I took advantage of about 45 minutes of remaining daylight to hunt for a geocache. This excellent time wasting activity often takes me places I'd never go, and sometimes spills over into… Full Story »

  8. New Shoe Innovations

Mile to Go Before I Sleep &bull Jan 8, 2012

A few years ago, I read an article--and WHEN I read it made it particularly interesting. We had just finished the 2009 Turkey and TATURs, and it was a mudfest. I know "mud runs" are fun--but when you have ran… Full Story »

  9. New Years Eve Eve Long Run, with Mitch

Mile to Go Before I Sleep &bull Dec 31, 2011

My friend Mitch told me at the TATUR Christmas party he was debating making a push to meet his yearly running mileage goal of 1,200 miles. He was a little short--"How short is short?" I asked. And so the challenge began. Last Tuesday with the Night Crawlers, he was in the upper 40s to go, and our plan was to get a few miles in Friday (yesterday) as we were both off work. SO Yesterday around noon, we took off from the Bixby YMCA with plans to run to Lake Bixhoma and back. We started with a little jaunt around… Full Story »

  10. Good news, and a TNC report

Mile to Go Before I Sleep &bull Dec 28, 2011

My first post-holidays run was a great success--successful for multiple reasons. 1. my knee injury is improved. I went to see my massage torture-ist today, and she says it if not a bone or joint problem--if it were, it would… Full Story »
