Soleus Is In the House!
RunnerDude's Blog &bull 56 Minutes Ago
Garmin has reigned king over the GPS running watch market for years. Not so much because they're the best, but rather they've been the only thing available. Not knocking Garmin, they have a good product (except I did have a horrendous time with a 405 that was a lemon from the get-go and never worked right) , but they are a bit… Full Story »

Recovery Timing for Perfect Intervals
IronmanLife Radio Podcast &bull Yesterday
Everybody loves interval training (right?), but it's not just the work you're doing that counts. The recovery between intervals is important, too. CTS Coach Jim Rutberg explains how it works. So, you're all ready to go out for your workout. You have a few gels in your pocket, your bike is gleaming in the warm sun with a bottle of water and bottle of sports drink, your sunglasses are sitting in the helmet draped over your handlebars, and your heart rate monitor/powermeter is quietly waiting to record every last bit of data. Great job, you have all the right gear,… Full Story »

Race Report: Manhattan Hot Chocolate 10K (and Run to City Bakery)
Absolut(ly) Fit &bull Yesterday
Despite a rocky start where each of us thought the other person was standing us up, my date last night went surprisingly well. However, it also went very long - so when I got up at 8am to get ready for the Manhattan Hot Chocolate 10K, I was running on about 4 hours of sleep. Not good at all!I was also running late for my 9am meeting with Jocelyn to run 2.5 miles up to the race, so I got ready as fast as I could. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to eat breakfast - and instead of grabbing one… Full Story »

ICY-8 Adventure Trail Run
Run Bulldog Run &bull Feb 6, 2012
Just wanted to take a few moments to jot down some thoughts on yesterday's ICY-8 Adventure Trail Race - another great event put on by the Athletic Equation guys. The event took place at Lake Anna State Park in Spotsylvania, Virginia on a 90%-trail looped course. The race was unique in that you could either choose to run a short loop (4.7 miles with about 350ft of elevation gain/loss), or the longer 8 mile loop with about 640ft elevation gain/loss. The first loop had to be run clockwise, but after that you were free to choose any direction and either… Full Story »
